Official '66 World Cup Hotel Creates Seasonal Bobby Moore Menu to Commemorate Bobby Moore & 50th Anniversary Victory

Royal Garden Hotel

The Royal Garden Hotel, official host of the winning World Cup football team in 1966, has collaborated with Stephanie Moore, the widow of the legendary footballer, to create bespoke dishes based on the former England captain's favourite meals.

The new seasonal menu, which will be available on the Park Terrace lounge menu, aims to help raise £50,000 for Cancer Research UK through the Bobby Moore Fund.

The hotel's executive head chef, Steve Munkley, has been working closely with Stephanie to create dishes inspired by Bobby's favourite food, with a healthy twist, which will be available from 1st April to 31st December 2016. The spring menu will offer:

Potted Shrimp and Crab Cocktail

With Sour dough soldiers

Spinach and Nutmeg Soup

~~~~
Fettuccini, peppers, olives, peas, broad beans and Heritage tomatoes, masked in Basil Oil
~~~~~

American Baked Blueberry Cheesecake

When guests order items from the Bobby Moore menu, a donation of £1 will be made to the Fund. The charity has raised over £21million to date to support bowel cancer research.

Steve Munkley, head chef at the hotel's Park Terrace restaurant, comments: “It's been a pleasure working with Stephanie to bring to life some of Bobby's best-loved dishes to celebrate ours, and the World Cup win's 50th anniversary when Bobby and the team stayed at The Royal Garden Hotel. Together, we have ensured that the menu offers healthy variations of his favourite meals. To keep it fresh for our guests, the menu will change seasonally and diners can expect to find a selection of wholesome dishes which are also rich in vital nutrients such as calcium, protein and iron, which help protect against cancer.”

Stephanie Moore adds: “I am delighted that the Bobby Moore Fund will be working alongside the Royal Garden Hotel in 2016, for what hopes to be an exciting year recognising 50 years since Bobby lifted the World Cup.”

The Bobby Moore menu is just one of many '66 World Cup themed experiences that the hotel has planned to celebrate its golden anniversary. Earlier this year, the hotel launched a room package perfect for football fans, which includes Wembley stadium tour tickets and a football goodie bag. In July, the hotel's bar will be transformed into the Bobby Moore lounge, offering themed snacks, live screenings and a number of other football-themed activities for guests to enjoy.
