Odakyu Electric Railway appoints doq® to showcase services to Australian tourists
One of Japan's leading Railway Groups, Odakyu Electric Railway has this month appointed Sydney-based cross-cultural agency doq® to be its first Australian representative for tourism.
Last year in October, Odakyu Electric Railway hosted the Australian Wallabies during a visit to Hakone, an 80-minute train ride from Tokyo, Japan. Here the professional players had the opportunity to take in the natural beauty of Mount Fuji and relax their tired muscles in some of Japan's most renowned hot springs.
International travellers have been increasingly flocking to Japan in recent years, and with the 2019 Rugby World Cup and 2020 Olympics just around the corner, it's expected that tourist numbers will increase even further.
Hakone is one of the many destinations offered on the Odakyu Railway Route and is situated in the Fuji-Hakone-Izu National Park in Kanagawa Prefecture. Featuring unique views of Mount Fuji and more than a dozen natural hot springs and traditional ryokans, Hakone has been loved by Japanese locals for more than 400 years.
Odakyu Electric Railway offers the 'The Hakone Freepass', a discounted ticket covering all the popular sights in Hakone, as well as a range of discounts at shops, attractions and other locations with the option of either a 2-day or 3-day pass.
Cross-cultural agency doq® – which recently celebrated its 10th anniversary – was chosen last year to be Kanagawa Prefecture's first tourism representative in Australia. They have been tasked with creating synergy between the Odakyu Electric Railway and Kanagawa Prefecture where it operates.
