Welcome to Ocean Park � Barbados� newest attraction opening WINTER 2004

Ocean Park is a unique attraction bringing the spectacular underwater world of Barbados to all - without having to get wet !! It will display a fascinating collection of the freshwater and marine life of the Caribbean in a way that is exciting, unique and educational.

Displays and attractions All the attractions are located in a beautifully landscaped park with plenty of seating, shaded areas and water features

� Freshwater Falls � see the local freshwater species standing next to a large Waterfall

� Mangrove Swamp � wonder at how Mangrove trees survive and spot the variety of fish lurking on the root structure

� Ray pool and wading area � always a favourite, the rays will come to the surface to look at you while you look at them !

� Rocky Coasts � a display of the harsh East coast cliffs of Barbados and its crashing waves

� Touch pools � carefully handle (under supervision) starfish, crabs and other sea creatures

� Living reef � walk through the underwater tunnel in a fabulous display of living corals and the myriads of small fish that live on the reef

� Shoreline discovery Pod �investigate up close in detail Lobsters, sea horses and other incredible sea creatures

� SeaLab & Classroom � using microscopes and other laboratory instruments learn more about the undersea world

� Quarantine and sea rescue area � here new species are cared for and the unit will look after rescued sea creatures

� Ocean Encounter � a spectacular display of huge oceanic species including sharks viewed through the Caribbean�s largest underwater window

Conservation statement Ocean Park supports and promotes the conservation of coral reefs around the world through presentation and research of species and their habitats. � We undertake, in conjunction with others, research into breeding of coral reef species as part of creating a sustainable species sourcing programme � We aim to raise awareness of coral reef habitats to increase understanding of the threats they face in the wild � We support conservation projects by other organisations that protect coral reef species and habitats in the wild.

Refreshment Kiosk � a variety of hot and cold drinks and snacks available within the displays area

Entrance Clubhouse/Reception - containing gift Shop with a wide variety of local souvenirs

Restaurant - serving a full range of hot and cold meals and reef Bar for drinks and beverages

18 Hole Mini Golf � Opening December 2004 A challenging and fun putting course containing a wide variety of holes with a pirate theme � galleon, look out tower and all!!

Location - easily accessible The park is situated just minutes from the Cruise Ship terminal at the Golf Driving Range at Christchurch half way between Bridgetown and the Airport just off the main ABC highway

Opening Times Open from 9.00am daily � tickets are valid all day
