LONDON TO ASHGABAT - 58 days
Europe, Caucasus and Iran
Travel overland from London across Europe and through the Caucasus to Iran, before finishing in the Central Asian state of Turkmenistan, east of the Caspian Sea. Highlights include a visit to Nesebar, a UNESCO coastal town situated on a Peninsula of Bulgaria. In Georgia we visit Gori, the birthplace of the Soviet leader, Josef Stalin and visit the Stalin Museum. There is also the opportunity to take a wine tour in the Kakheti region, famous for it's vineyards and wineries. Continuing on into Armenia take a day trip to view Mt Ararat a stunning snow-capped volcano to the south-west of the capital city of Yerevan. Visit some of Iran's most famous historic and religious sites, as well as its frenetic and chaotic cities and camp out under the stars in its vast deserts before reaching Ashgabat, a city that quite literally has to be seen and experienced to be believed!
