New South Wales is the most featured destination in Gourmet Traveller's newly launched 2014 Gourmet Traveller Australian Hotel Guide, revealed at the inaugural hotel guide awards announced last night at one of Sydney's newest restaurants, Nomad in Surry Hills.

Of the 50 hotels included in the guide, 10 are in Sydney and four in Regional NSW, making NSW the most awarded of any state in Australia.

In addition, The Park Hyatt was named as the Best Large City Hotel and Blu Bar on 36 at the Shangri-La awarded the Best Hotel Bar.

Destination New South Wales Chief Executive Officer, Sandra Chipchase said this list confirms NSW is the number one for best stays with plenty of choice in the city and across the State.

“With Sydney being Australia's global tourism and major events city, we can now put another feather in our cap and say we have the best accommodation on offer,” she said.

“Whether you choose the city, the coast or inland NSW, visitors to Sydney and NSW are spoilt for choice when it comes to some of the best hotel accommodation,” Ms Chipchase said.
