Novotel and VisitLondon have announced they are to host TravMedias Thirst Tuesday on May 16, an occasion celebrating the high-profile events 1st birthday.
The Novotel London Euston will play host to the anniversary, with VisitLondon providing food and wine.
TravMedia, the worlds leading online travel news service for the media, set up Thirst Tuesday to create a networking event for travel journalists and PR professionals. The first event was held at the Covent Garden Travelodge on May 17th 2005, with the Argentina Ministry of Tourism co-sponsoring alongside Travelodge.
Over 100 people attended that event, and the occasion has grown in stature ever since, with over 230 people present at the most recent event in February 2006, held at the South Africa High Commission and sponsored by South Africa Tourism.
Helen Sundaram, Marketing Manager of Accor Hotels, said the Novotel London Euston was looking forward to playing host in May, adding: This is an important event for Novotel to sponsor and were delighted to have the opportunity to host so many key media at one of our New Generation Novotels. Were expecting it to be a great celebration!
Ken Kelling, communications director at Visit London, said: We are delighted to sponsor Thirst Tuesdays birthday event. We have worked with TravMedia on events in the past and they have all produced the right results. With the excitement of the Olympics adding to Londons winning streak, this is a good time to remind journalists and PRs about stories and news that might be right on their doorstep!
Henry Hemming, managing director of TravMedia UK said: Wed like to thank everyone who has attended Thirst Tuesday for making it the event it has become. Thanks too to all our sponsors over the last year, and of course to Novotel and VisitLondon for backing our anniversary event.
This event is by invitation only, at the discretion of all sponsors.
