Madrid is a firm favourite for those who love art, so here is some of the best visually inspiring activities for November.

Madrid is a year-round choice when it comes to art. The Prado Museum has the world's most impressive collections of paintings by Bosch, El Greco, Titian, Goya, and Velázquez. Inspiring works can also be found at the wider-ranging Thyssen-Bornemisza and more contemporary Reina Sofía museums.

Meninas Madrid Gallery

Throughout November, one of the city’s most exciting exhibitions will be taking place. A showcase of 56 Meninas will grace the streets as part of the ‘Meninas Madrid Gallery’.

The Meninas Madrid Gallery is an initiative that fills the streets with 56 versions of the iconic Velazquez’s Meninas (maids of honour), encouraging art lovers and locals to explore the Spanish Capital to see the stunning pieces.

The Meninas designers include the likes of Rosana, Rafael Nadal, Dani Rovira, Ouka Leele, Samantha Vallejo-Nájera, María Pombo and Quique Dacosta.

As part of the exhibition, the luxury hotel VP Plaza España Design 5* will be home to the ‘Menina Lustre de Mar’ which is considered the most valuable and exclusive of the Menina in the collection. Made with precious stones, gems and diamonds - the detailed piece took several months to complete due to the meticulous elaboration process it required.

The exclusive piece is located at the entrance of VP Plaza España Design 5*. This setting is one of the most spectacular places in the city, overlooking Madrid’s stunning skyline with views of the Royal Palace – making it the perfect place to enjoy this unique public art.

Double rooms at VP Plaza España are priced from €220 on a room-only basis. Breakfast is an additional €29 per person. For more information or to book, visit https://www.plazaespana-hotel.com
