30 January 2018 – The Normandy Tourist Board has confirmed that it will be at TravMedia's International Media Marketplace 2018 on 12 March at the QEII Centre in London.
IMM is now established as the industry's leading event for the media to meet travel and tourism brands, and Normandy is looking forward to sharing the region's latest news and developments for 2018 with top travel journalists.
A mere hop across the Channel, Normandy offers a great choice of scenery, culture and gastronomy. Whether it's strolling along the stunning cliffs of the Alabaster Coast, visiting the historic D‑Day beaches, exploring the Impressionist trail, enjoying a seafood platter in the Cotentin or savouring cider and cheese in the Pays d'Auge, Normandy has something for everyone!
This year's IMM represents an opportunity for the Normandy Tourist Board to communicate on a number of 2018 openings, such as that of the much-anticipated Calvados Experience this April, an immersive, multi-sensory exhibit exploring the history of the traditional Norman drink, which culminates in a tasting session with a Calvados connoisseur.
Also new for 2018 is the Fisheries Museum in the port of Fécamp, which explores the long history of fishing in Normandy and boasts a viewing platform with stunning panoramas. Visitors looking for a spot of retail therapy will appreciate a trip to the first outlet village in north-west France, the Honfleur Normandy Outlet, while families looking for a luxury week away need look no further than the brand new Pierre & Vacances holiday village in Deauville, opening this Spring.
Golf aficionados heading out to France later this year for the 2018 Ryder Cup will be able to experience some of France's finest courses within an hour's drive of the tournament, such as the Vaudreuil championship course, designed by Fred Hawtree, and Champ de Bataille, Normandy's only forest course.
Outdoorsy types will now be able to enjoy a Husky hike in the picturesque Perche Regional Natural Park or a cycling day trip to Bayeux and the D-Day Beaches, both of which launched this year. The adventurous at heart may also be interested in the launch this March of the first English guide to the Veloscenic cycling route, which runs from Notre-Dame in Paris to Normandy's iconic Mont‑Saint‑Michel.
With regular ferries, trains and flights into the region, Normandy's proximity to the UK makes it a top destination for a holiday, no matter what time of year it is. The Normandy Tourist Board thoroughly looks forward to meeting with journalists and editors at IMM 2018 in March and discussing potential partnership and press trip opportunities.
