A commemoration of Noel Coward will be performed in The Hoste's stunning new garden room on Friday 15 November.

COWARDS IN THE WINGS is a new production which includes 20 songs, interspersed with anecdotes and wonderful stories of the famous man's wit and glamour.

It headlines a series of exciting autumn events planned for the spacious, light and airy new space at the rear of the hotel, which opened this May and which is accessed through a glamorous new reception area.

The garden room has already very proved a popular venue with a diverse series of jazz, featuring national and International musicians this June.

The concert has been created to commemorate the forty years since Noel Coward died. It is being brought to Norfolk by well-loved local television presenter Helen McDermott and actor biographer and novelist Adrian Wright, with accompaniment by Annette Jude and John Knowles.

Helen said:"Ah, the Hoste! No stranger to wit and glamour, of course, and we're bringing yet more."

From much-loved classics to lesser-known songs, the concert will be a rollercoaster ride through Noel Coward's back catalogue including material which has never been previously performed. It will also be staged at Drury Lane in London in December.

Adrian said: "We hope that Cowards in the Wings will be fresh and funny," I'm hoping to be quite fresh, and I'm praying that Helen will be funny."

This is a return to the boards for Helen whose early career was as a dancer and then actor. After working hard for her Equity card in summer seasons and pantomimes, Helen got her break in television when she was 20, becoming a game show hostess on Treasure Hunt. After three months she joined ITV Anglia as a presenter and began a role which lasted almost three decades.
