Nonprofit Hosts Community Week To Raise Money For Outdoor Adventures For People With Disabilities

Splore

Instead of the typical gala dinners and suits, Splore will be hosting a week long fundraiser that includes a BBQ with Whole Foods, a benefit concert at the State Room and a week of storytelling and online fundraising.

This shift allows them to cut costs and maximize revenue while providing a more engaging experience for donors, clients and friends that is more in line with the ‘spirit of Splore’. “People are looking for fun and engaging ways to support their favorite organizations,” said Janine Donald, Splore’s Executive Director, “and we are working to provide events which are exactly that.”

The Whole Foods in Sugarhouse hosted a Splore BBQ on September 14th from 12-4p. Everyone in the community was invited to attend this free event, learn more about Splore and snag their weekly grocery needs at the same time.

The Disgusting Brothers, Salt Lake City’s premier classic rock band, has been performing at Splore benefits since the early 80’s and has gained quite a following in the outdoor community. The concert is on September 19th at 8pm at the State Room. Tickets are a $20 suggested donation and can be purchased online or at the door.

The Fall Fling, which runs September 14-20th, is designed to rally community support for Splore’s outdoor adventure programs for people of all abilities. Splore’s mission is to provide life-changing outdoor adventures for people with disabilities and disadvantages.  www.splore.org
