No Strings Attached' flexible summer offer from The Swan at Lavenham Hotel from £82pppn
A 'No Strings Attached' flexible summer offer is available from the 15th century Swan at Lavenham Hotel & Spa. It covers three different break options including room only, B&B, and dinner B&B from around £164 B&B per room per night for two sharing (from £82pppn). No deposit will be taken and guests can cancel until 2pm, 48 hours prior to arrival.
With its half-timbered picture perfect exterior, luxurious surroundings, oak beamed interiors, open fires and cosy nooks, the hotel brings together a deep sense of history and occasion with a mix of classic and contemporary styling.
Each of the 45 individual bedrooms and suites is slightly different. Guests can choose to eat in the informal, contemporary style Brasserie or enjoy fine dining in the Gallery restaurant. The relaxed Airmen's Bar is full of WW2 memorabilia from the United States Army Airforce who were stationed nearby, while in warmer times you can also enjoy lunch, tea or cocktails in the sheltered gardens and hidden courtyard.
Ancient wool towns and stunning countryside
Widely regarded as 'England's finest medieval Town', Lavenham owes its wealth and the splendour of its 15th and 16th century buildings to the woollen cloth industry. You can take a gentle walk from the hotel around the ancient town with its individually owned boutiques, craft shops and galleries, or visit the stunning timber framed Guildhall (National Trust) and splendid church of St Peter and St Paul.
There are also numerous scenic country walks, cycle paths and bridleways nearby or the other wool towns of Long Melford, Hadleigh and Sudbury are just a short drive away. Today Long Melford is famous for the quality and quantity of its antique shops and two stately homes, Melford Hall (National trust) and Kentwell Hall, which stages regular historic re-enactments. The Swan is also ideally situated to explore the heart of Suffolk where the rolling countryside inspired such well known landscape artists as Constable and Gainsborough.
B&B starts from around £164 per room per night (£82pppn) for two sharing and dogs are welcome at £12 per night. The hotel has also attained the Visit England 'Good to Go' mark confirming measures are in place for the safety of guests and their teams.
