BEST WESTERN GB HAS RECEIVED SOME UNUSUAL REQUESTS FOR ANIMAL STAYS IN 2014
Best Western GB has collated all the requests the reservations team has had for pet accommodation in 2014 and there are some unusual additions to the list.
With more than 100 pet friendly properties in the portfolio of 284 independently owned hotels, dogs accounted for the majority of pet stays in 2014 but the brand also received requests from individuals who wanted to bring a horse, a micro pig, a pet tortoise, cats, stick insects, a goldfish, a pair of ferrets and an iguana with them to a Best Western hotel.
There have been several requests for parrot stays and even the celebrity dog Pudsey overnighted at a property.
Several caring guests who were hand-rearing animals have also stayed at Best Western GB hotels in 2014 including an individual with a two-week old guinea pig and a guest who was caring for a little orphaned lamb in spring.
CEO Richard Lewis said: “We've had some very exotic pet requests this year and my personal favourite was the guest who wanted to bring his pet iguana. It just goes to show that people really do feel like our Best Western properties are a little slice of home!”
“In the countdown to Christmas we will be welcoming families visiting their friends and relatives or even enjoying a special Best Western GB Christmas break. We know that pets are extremely important to their families and in autumn we launched a guide to the properties which host these important family members throughout the year,” he continues.

About Best Western GB
From humble beginnings in 1946 when MK Guertin took his family on a journey across America and was inspired to create a co-operative of hotels, Best Western Hotel is now the largest collection of independently owned and managed hotels globally.
The look and feel of every Best Western hotel is totally different; each has its own character and story to tell. From a spirit historian to whiskey and porridge for breakfast in the Lake District to hotels with vineyards and chocolatiers.
