Couples now have the chance to marry for free at one of the Caribbean’s most romantic resorts, Nisbet Plantation Beach Club (www.nisbetplantation.com).
The boutique resort on the small, unspoilt island of Nevis is offering free wedding ceremonies for couples booking a minimum 7-night stay in a suite between 1 March and 19 December.
The wedding package includes a decorated venue at the resort, bride’s bouquet and buttonhole for the groom, a two-tier wedding cake, champagne for the wedding toast and a champagne breakfast the day after the ceremony.
The resort, which is the only historic plantation inn in the Caribbean to be set on the beach, offers many picturesque venues for weddings including the scenic Avenue of Palms that runs from the 18th century Great House to the beach. The beach is also a popular venue especially for weddings at sunset. Couples can commemorate their wedding with the planting of a palm near the Avenue of the Palms.
And there are backdrops such as the ruins of a Sugar Mill, the historic Great House and lush tropical gardens for wonderful photographs to mark the day. Away from the resort couples can be photographed under the branches of a silk cotton tree where Horatio Nelson married local widow, Frances Nisbet in 1787, the atmospheric ruins of the Cottle Church or the Botanical Gardens.
Nisbet Plantation has been named one of the most romantic destinations in the Caribbean. Romantic options include relaxing in hammocks on the beach, an evening of star gazing on the beach, sipping cocktails at sunset while relaxing in the beachside hot tub or a couples massage in the Palms Spa.
Caribtours (tel: 020 7751 0660, www.caribtours.co.uk) offers a complimentary wedding at Nisbet Plantation. Prices start from £2,249 per person, based on two adults sharing a Deluxe Garden Suite with breakfast, afternoon tea and dinner each day. Price includes return scheduled flights from London Gatwick, use of a lounge at Gatwick and return airport transfers.
Nisbet Plantation has just 36 rooms set in 30 acres of grounds. The hotel has a Great House, dating from 1778, which houses the cocktail bar and award winning fine dining restaurant, a beachside bar and restaurant, beachside freshwater swimming pool, spa, fitness centre and tennis court.
