Newmarket Holidays has reported a 250% rise in bookings for Canada following the broadcast of Race Across The World, the award-winning TV series where couples competed to make it across the vast country without smartphones, credit cards and by organising their own transport.
For travellers who want to find their own wishlist adventure across the country, the escorted tour specialist has discounts of up to 15% available on holidays until 9 June, including group adventures to Niagara Falls, the Rockies and an array of Canada's most eye-catching cities.
CANADA'S ROCKY MOUNTAINEER
Canada's Rocky Mountaineer is an 11-day escorted tour that starts in Banff, capital of the Canadian Rockies, before heading along the beautiful glacier-dotted Icefields Parkway to Jasper National Park, where guests board the legendary Rocky Mountaineer train and follow the route of the North Thompson River past Mount Robson, Pyramid Falls and Yellowhead Pass to Kamloops. A second day on the train takes passengers past the mighty Fraser River and the rushing waters of Hell's Gate in Fraser Canyon, before arriving in Vancouver on the coast.
From £3,460 per person, with a 15% saving available until 9 June, and included room-only accommodation, breakfast and lunch on the Rocky Mountaineer, excursions and return flights, newmarketholidays.co.uk, 0330 160 7700.
THE MAPLE LEAF TRAIL
Newmarket Holidays' 10-day escorted tour starts with a spray-soaked cruise to the foot of Niagara Falls and then visits four contrasting eastern cities. Guests follow the north shore of Lake Ontario to Toronto, where they can join a guided tour to discover the neighbourhoods that reflect the city's mix of ethnic origins, including Chinatown, Greektown, Little India and Little Italy. The adventure then follows the scenic Maple Leaf Trails to the elegant capital of Ottawa, and then Quebec City, where the New World still resembles the Old. The tour ends at Montreal, French Canada's capital of style.
From £2,016 per person, featuring a 10% discount available until 9 June, and including room-only accommodation, all transfers and return flights from Heathrow, newmarketholidays.co.uk, 0330 160 7700.
Richard Harrington, Destination Manager US, Canada, Middle East & Indian subcontinent, says: “The Race Across the World Series has been superb in showing the diversity of a Canadian holiday, including its stunning landscapes, fabulous wildlife and vibrant cities. The contestants couldn't have successfully completed the race without the warm welcome and support of the Canadian people which was the real story of the show. Canada is such a beautiful country and our customers have definitely got it on their wish lists.”
