P&O Australian Resorts

Silky Oaks Lodge, P&O Australian Resorts luxury wilderness lodge in the World Heritage-listed Daintree Rainforest in Queensland, is now giving its guests the chance to experience a new tour with unequalled access into worlds oldest living rainforest via the previously restricted Black Mountain Road.

The half-day 4WD interpretative tour, run by specialist operator, Australian Wilderness Experience, includes travel on the Kuranda Skyrail, providing a birds-eye view over the rainforest canopy, plus guided walks at Red Peak and Barron Falls Stations.

By travelling on the restricted Black Mountain Road, Silky Oaks Lodge guests are given unequalled access to pristine natural bushland and rainforest areas. The personalised tour, which is for a maximum of just four persons, includes commentary on the history and ecology of the rainforest and its native fruits, ferns, flowers, butterflies, birds and animals.

The Kuranda Skyrail via Black Mountain Road tour is AUD$140 (approx 50) per person and can easily be included in a stay at Silky Oaks Lodge. Three-night packages including accommodation in a private Treehouse, tropical breakfast and daily four course dinner is priced from AUD $960 (approx 340) per person. This package also includes a Daintree River and Cape Tribulation day trip or a cruise to the Outer Barrier Reef (offer valid until March 2003).
