Craft beer fans can explore more breweries than ever before in Cleveland, and a recently debuted brewery passport can help guide the way. Thirsty travelers can soak up the craft beer scene with the following openings and beer-centric activities:
Cleveland Brewery Passport
Visitors can sip their way through Northeast Ohio's thriving beer scene with the new Cleveland Brewery Passport, which debuted this summer. Beer enthusiasts can explore as many as 30 participating breweries within a 25-mile radius of Downtown Cleveland, collecting stamps along the way as they get a taste of what makes Cleveland's breweries one-of-a-kind. Designed with flexibility in mind, guests that obtain eight stamps and those that complete the passport with all 30 stamps have an opportunity to receive a prize for their participation.
Visitors can pick up the free Cleveland Brewery Passport at any of the participating breweries or at the Cleveland Visitors Center (334 Euclid Ave., Cleveland).
Cleveland Beer Week
Taking place October 12-21, Cleveland Beer Week features events at more than 125 venues throughout the Cleveland area, ranging from keg tappings to beer tastings to brewery crawls and liquid scavenger hunts. Event highlights include Off Shore Pour, a boat cruise on Lake Erie where attendees can mix and mingle with brewery reps while enjoying 15 different craft brews; Deep Brew Sea, a tasting event at the Greater Cleveland Aquarium with more than 10 beer stations and food pairings; and BREWzilla, a beer extravaganza which offers hundreds of beers from over 80 breweries both near and far.
Cleveland Beer Week, which celebrates its 10th year in 2018, is a not-for-profit celebration that raises awareness of the craft beer industry and promotes patronage at local establishments. Proceeds from all of flagship events benefit the Malone Scholarship Fund.
