The first timer skiing and boarding experience is now even easier at Perisher Blue, with the installation of a new ski carpet.
Open for Ski School use, until 3.00 pm, the ski carpet provides the perfect alternative for those starting out to master the basics before advancing to other lifts spread across the four resort areas.
Any parent who has watched their kids learn on the existing ski carpets in Perisher and Smiggins, will know just how easy the ski carpet makes learning.
Essentially, if you can stand on skis or a board then youll be able to use the ski carpet.
Instructors will help learners get the basics sorted out, while using the carpet so they can progress with confidence to nearby t-bars and chairlifts.
Installed beside the duplex t-bars, to the left of Bass and Flinders T-Bars, looking up Front Valley, the new ski carpet is open to both children and adults. Skiers and boarders taking lessons, can quickly find their balance on the new dedicated first timers carpet.
As learners use this dedicated carpet, it will ease congestion on the Bass and Flinders T-Bars and will mean more time on the snow during lessons by depositing guests directly at a meeting point for lessons.
This latest carpet brings Perisher Blues total ski carpets to four.
It is the longest and steepest of Perisher Blues carpets at 64 metres in length, with 10 per cent slope angle or an 11 metre vertical rise.
Its speed is variable, running between 0.3m to 0.8m per second. This means it can take an incredible 1200 people per hour to the top.
Perisher Blue installed its first ski carpet in 1999 in the Milo Kids Area. Another two were then installed in 2001, another in the Milo Kids Area and one in the Smiggin Holes learner area.
Along with an unmatched range of first timer packages, the new ski carpet upholds Perisher Blue's reputation as the best place to learn to ski or board.
