New Scientist Discovery Tours

Solo travellers can immerse themselves in the trip of a lifetime with the world's leading science and technology magazine, New Scientist's new Discovery Tours. Select tours will not be charging single supplements for the first few bookings, so solo travellers can enjoy a range of fascinating experiences, without paying extra.

Each tour incorporates a range of scientific themes and is led by an expert from New Scientist's network so travellers can engage with editors, science specialists, academics and authors during each uniquely curated travel experience.

Highlights of the tours for 2020 and 2021 include searching for Bengal tigers in India, learning about the burgeoning technology in Japan and exploring dark matter at CERN, Switzerland.

Japan: nature, culture, science, Tokyo to Kagoshima, Japan

12 days from £6,695 per person departing on 18th October 2020.

This tour will take visitors on a journey through Japan, exploring the burgeoning technology centres and spectacular landscapes in Tokyo, Hakone and Kagoshima. The tour will take place during winter, where participants will visit snow-capped mountains, buzzing metropolises, hot springs and volcanic islands. Visitors will visit leading institutions and explore space, robotics and learn about AI.

Kepler's Prague: Music of the Spheres, Czech Republic

Tigers of India
