Six Continents Hotels today announced three new appointments to its National Sales team, focusing on strengthening both its domestic and international customer base and developing the profile of its global brands through sponsorship marketing.
Kerrie Hensley has been appointed as Director of Sales Inbound for Six Continents Hotels, which will see her responsible for attracting guests from North America, the UK and Europe, the Middle East, South Africa and Asia including Japan. Most recently Director of Sales and Marketing with Sheraton on the Park Sydney, Kerrie brings more than ten years of experience in marketing and sales management in the hospitality sector to the role.
Especially during the current period, focusing on and providing incentives to international wholesalers, inbound operators and international airlines to drive sales is crucial, said Six Continents Hotels Director of Marketing for Australia, New Zealand and the South Pacific, Michael Meade. Bookings from international markets are especially valuable for our hotels and Kerries appointment is another example of our firm commitment to develop these areas.
Six Continents Hotels has also appointed Andrew Loader as Director of Sales Victoria, South Australia and Tasmania. Prior to the new appointment, Andrew co-ordinated internal Marketing for Six Continents Hotels and was responsible for product and program development during the initial rollout of the Groups global brands in Australia including Crowne Plaza and Holiday Inn. Andrews wealth of industry experience also includes tenures as General Manager at such hotels as Hotel Lawson in Ultimo, St Kilda Travelodge in Melbourne, Old Sydney Parkroyal in The Rocks (now Old Sydney Holiday Inn) and most recently, Pier One Parkroyal.
To support its global brands through sponsorships and partnerships with key sporting bodies, Six Continents Hotels has appointed Iain Nelson as Director of Sales Sport. Responsible for coordinating and maximising opportunities with sporting bodies, leagues and associations, Iain has been with Six Continents Hotels for more than a decade in Business Development roles in the Brisbane and Perth Regional Sales Offices and a variety of Operations roles in Melbourne and Perth.
Kerrie, Andrew and Iains extensive experience in their respective areas of hospitality operations are a perfect match for their new positions. Each of them will play an increasingly important role as the Group continues to expand in this region, Mr Meade said.
