New Rydges Fortitude Valley Blends Urban Chic With Rural Charm

EVT

Rydges Hotels and Resorts will introduce a slice of country hospitality to the heart of the city with the opening of the global chain's newest hotel in Brisbane in February 2016.

Located within the historically rich Brisbane Showgrounds precinct, Rydges Fortitude Valley is ideally positioned to capture both business and leisure travellers as the district evolves to become a thriving lifestyle destination.

The 208-room hotel provides convenient and luxurious accommodation for visitors attending a wide range of events and festivals held at the adjacent showgrounds, which are currently in the throes of a $2.9 billion major redevelopment by RNA and Lendlease.

Offering all the modern amenities and contemporary style expected by the discerning guest, Rydges Fortitude Valley's impressive range of facilities has been thoughtfully conceived with rural charm.

Dining options including the signature Six Acres Restaurant which will offer guests an exciting farm-to-the-table experience combining intercity chic and warm service reminiscent of a country welcome. With panoramic views onto the RNA Showgrounds and the Royal International Exhibition Centre, The Paddock Bar is destined to be a lively meeting place complete with the same charming, rural vibe. The site also boasts a fully equipped gymnasium and heated outdoor pool.

Rydges Fortitude Valley General Manager Matthew Hurley said the new hotel was an exciting addition to the group's international portfolio that included more than 40 hotels and resorts across Australia, New Zealand and in London.

“We envisage the hotel becoming regional Queensland's home in the city, bringing a new dimension in world-class service with a personal touch to an area known for its cultural heritage and agricultural theme,” Mr Hurley said.

“The hotel's positioning within the Showgrounds precinct and opposite the Royal International Convention Centre (RICC) lends unique appeal to guests wishing to stay and soak up the atmosphere at the many events and festivals held in the district throughout the year.”

Rydges Fortitude Valley embodies an aesthetic of urban chic with an equal focus on comfort and is located in the heart of Bowen Hills, where crowds have gathered since 1875 to celebrate the Royal Queensland Show.

An icon of the district's exciting revitalisation, the hotel is situated along Brisbane's newest and most vibrant café and retail strip of King Street, and on the fringe of the city's renowned entertainment quarter of “the Valley”, with its eclectic mix of shopping, bars and restaurants.

Brisbane CBD is just minutes away, with the vibrant hubs of Chinatown, Newstead and New Farm all within walking distance, while convenient travel options exist for guests wishing to explore famed destinations including Queen Street, the Story Bridge, Suncorp Stadium and The Gabba.

The hotel also targets business travellers, offering three flexible meeting rooms, and is ideally situated across from RICC, which boasts indoor and outdoor facilities including a main arena with grandstands capable of accommodating up to 18,000 people.

Free WIFI is available for all Rydges guests, while all guest rooms and suites feature a mini bar, tea and coffee facilities, individually controlled air conditioning and more.

Rydges Fortitude Valley is now taking bookings, with first guests to be welcomed from 9 February 2016. For more information, www.rydgesfortitudevalley.com or to make a booking email: reservations_fortitudevalley@rydges.com
