Experience Canberra's premier wildlife sanctuary like never before with the ultimate family glamping experience – WILDfest at Tidbinbilla.

For the first time, visitors to Canberra can wake up in the wild and explore Tidbinbilla Nature Reserve's incredible nature reserve while staying overnight at the spectacular WILDfest Pop Up Wilderness Camp, set to commence these September school holidays and during each subsequent school holiday period.

According to Wildfest Founder Amanda Fry, “Since launching Wildfest in the Southern Highlands, I've seen the need for a family glamping experience designed with kids in mind. ACT Parks and Conservation provided the perfect location at Tidbinbilla, together with the experience of the ACT Rangers and Wildlife Officers.

“Tidbinbilla is not only a beautiful and diverse nature reserve but home to many interesting native animals. We are really excited about the opportunities ahead for growing and developing this school holiday offering and sharing the great achievement of Tidbinbilla's dedicated team with endangered species.

“Campers can enjoy an array of fun and safe outdoor activities including day and night wildlife encounters, ranger-guided walks, and information sessions to learn about the incredible wildlife and the Indigenous and European history in the Valley. It's a great chance to see animals in their natural bush setting.

“By night, campers can experience Dreamtime stories by firelight, all within the comfort of a fully catered 'glamping' tent accommodation with amenities on site. A delicious dinner and breakfast is also provided,” explained Fry.

Tidbinbilla is located 40 minutes by car from the centre of Canberra. It is home to an amazing array of flora and fauna which includes the fascinating betongs (rat kangaroos), potaroos, platypus, turtles, kangaroos, emus, koalas and lyre birds. The park offers 16 hiking trails from Cascades Trail to Gibraltar Rock as well as a rich Aboriginal history. Canberra's Deep Space Communication Complex – NASA Tracking Station is also nearby.

Bookings for 'WILDfest at Tidbinbilla' are strictly limited and can be made for the period Friday 28 September to Saturday 13 October 2018. It is intended that WILDfest at Tidbinbilla will operate during each major school holiday period on an ongoing basis.

Costs are $195 per night for kids and $295 per night for adults, all inclusive. Guests are also given a day pass to explore Tidbinbilla Nature Reserve after their check-out.
