Floors is flourishing…
5 star visitor attraction Floors Castle in Kelso unveiled the plans for the Victorian Walled Garden to their loyal Roxburghe Card members at a private viewing yesterday.
Over 60 members joined the Duke and Duchess of Roxburghe to see the major work that started in October 2015 and will see the creation of a new perennial garden take shape as well as other new areas including a fruit cage. For the first time, the renowned vinery and original glasshouses producing soft fruits and house plants will be opened to the public together with access to the famous 'potting shed' which was built circa 1860's.
In his welcome speech, His Grace, the Duke of Roxburghe, commented, 'The Walled Garden is already a wonderful attraction with the renowned herbaceous borders and the wonderful fruit and vegetable beds and this development will bring further recognition to the attraction and to the area.'
With a rich and vibrant history here at Roxburghe, we're committed to protecting our heritage and preserving our future. To support the ongoing regeneration of the walled gardens, back to its original Victorian glory, complete with wall restoration, elaborate fruit cage together with the new perennial garden we have refined the Roxburghe Loyalty Card.Roxburghe Loyalty Card.
