Long-established travel trade title Selling Long Haul has been renamed Selling Travel.
Since its launch in March 1990, Selling Long Haul has given UK travel professionals the tools, information and inspiration to sell more travel. This will continue to be the case but from the September 2014 issue the magazine's new name will better reflect the worldwide reach of the publication's content, its website and associated training events.
Editor, Steve Hartridge, says: “The world of travel is changing with people travelling more often and to more places – and the lines between what's 'long', 'medium' and 'short' haul travel have blurred. Our coverage of these faraway destinations will be as in-depth and far-reaching as it always has been but the new Selling Travel will be more inclusive with features, news and interviews focusing on short breaks and short/medium haul destinations, including the UK.”
The focus will be on destinations and products worldwide, plus coverage of popular market sectors, such as cruise, as well as special interest holidays. The business-to-business publication is also available as an emag with live website and email addresses and is viewable on tablets and smartphones.
The look of the publication has been given a gentle refresh to coincide with the new name. A new dedicated news review section has been added and heavier weight paper stock has been used with perfect binding.
Selling Travel is published by BMI Publishing, which also produces the business-to-business publications The Business Travel Magazine and Onboard Hospitality plus a wide range of travel industry supplements. The company also runs the annual The Business Travel Conference and administers a wide range of travel industry online training programmes through its training division, Travel Uni.
