New Luxury Hotel For Cirencester - Opens Summer 2014

The Kings Head

The Vineyard Group is delighted to announce the opening of their newest property in their collection, The Kings Head in Cirencester. This brand new country chic hotel will be opening to the public in the summer of 2014. Set in the heart of this historic Roman town, The Kings Head will be Cirencester's first luxury bolt-hole.

The Kings Head is a 45-room hotel which has been created by Managing Director Andrew McKenzie from The Vineyard Group, Mark Booth from Wildmoor Properties, architecture firm Butler Silcock and Michelin starred chef Daniel Galmiche.

Owned by Wildmoor Properties and operated by The Vineyard Group, The Kings Head will offer outstanding design, service, art, technology and food & wine experiences - all rooted to the local heritage and culture.

Located in the heart of Cirencester, the Grade II-listed Kings Head is just a few steps away from the iconic medieval church of St John the Baptist which towers over the town's market place.  The eclectic shopping scene and café culture of Cirencester coupled with it being the gateway to the quintessential Cotswolds makes The Kings Head a perfect bolthole for leisure travellers.

Historic building given new beginnings

Under the supervision of Calico Interiors, the former ancient coaching inn - allegedly frequented by King Charles II - has been sympathetically restored into a modern country chic luxury hotel.

Exposed brickwork and contemporary glass walkways coupled with the highly skilled restoration of historic features by expert craftsmen will result in a hotel that oozes character and charm.

The colour palette boasts rich, earthy, regal tones that have been inspired by an historic portrait of King Charles II himself. Modern and vintage furniture have been combined together with country artefacts and accessories to create a playful yet refined design scheme. This is complimented by vibrant colour splashes on furniture and eccentric additions of artwork and wallpaper. Oversized lamps in tweed, nickel-plated sideboards and quirky equestrian inspired accessories can all be found at The Kings Head.

Modern comforts come as standard with a complimentary mini bar in each room, paperless check-in, complimentary Wi-Fi, and Nespresso machines in each bedroom.

Culinary experiences to remember

The restaurant at The Kings Head will led by Head Chef, Wayne Sullivan, in association with Michelin-starred Daniel Galmiche.  An exceptional wine list that pays tribute to The Vineyard Group's roots, coupled with menus exploring the very best of modern British food, will combine to provide rich culinary experiences that guests will savour. The 95-cover restaurant will provide all-day dining options from sumptuous breakfasts and brunches through to afternoon tea and beyond.

A 4-treatment room Spa will be offering the very best Lubatti spa treatments and an adjacent fitness centre.

Rates at The Kings Head start from £135 per room per night including breakfast. For more information and bookings visit www.kingshead-hotel.co.uk or email sianpirone@kingshead-hotel.co.uk
