Bookings to Bulgaria's finest golf location, Thracian Cliffs Golf & Beach Resort, look set to soar even further after Turkish Airlines unveiled a new service from London Heathrow to Varna.
Beginning in April, to coincide with the start of the golf season, the daily service will connect Heathrow and Varna airports via a one-hour layover in Istanbul, with complimentary golf baggage and return fares starting from £220 (including tax).
A spokesman for Thracian Cliffs Golf & Beach Resort said: “We are delighted UK golfers will now have increased accessibility to Thracian Cliffs, giving them greater opportunity to play our signature course.
“We have already seen a massive increase in the number of UK bookings for 2015 but, thanks to the added convenience of this new flight option from Heathrow, even more golfers will get the opportunity to play one of Europe's most spectacular 18-hole layouts.”
With breath-taking vistas from every hole, the cliff-top course offers a championship layout designed by legendary South African Gary Player that hugs a daunting three-mile stretch along the picturesque shores of the Black Sea.
The majestic course offers a succession of stunning holes, including the 378-yard, par-four seventh, where the tee is perched on an island which demands a 190-yard carry over the lapping waves of the Black Sea – a nerve-racking shot requiring both accuracy and concentration.
Starting in April, the award-winning resort is offering golfers the chance to play three rounds on its magnificent course as part of a seven-night package – costing from €699 (around £515) per person – that includes one round on each of the neighbouring courses, BlackSeaRama and the Lighthouse Golf & Spa Resort.
The package also includes return transfers from Varna airport, a shared buggy for each round, and complimentary use of the driving range at Thracian Cliffs, as well as access to the fitness area, hammam, steam bath and Jacuzzi at the resort's spa.
