Tobu Railway, a Japanese commuter railway company that provides a transport network through Tokyo, announced the new limited express train vehicle called “Revaty” and its new timetable, available since April 21 2017.

Tobu Railway revised its timetable for routes including the TOBU SKYTREE Line, Isesaki Line, Nikko Line and TOBU URBAN PARK Line. Together with the Nikko Line “Spacia” and Isesaki Line “Ryomo”, Revaty started operations as a new limited express train launched for the first time in 26 years.

Revaty, named after the combination of the words “variety” and “liberty”, enables to reflect flexible and easier operations that meet the various requests of the passengers.

The new limited express train features five new aspects. For instance, the six-car train can be separated and connected by three cars. This enables flexible train services to multiple destinations due to the convenience of coupling and decoupling the train. Therefore passengers can reach their destinations without transferring at other stops.

The new limited express train provides more transport options for passengers. Revaty makes transportation more convenient from central Tokyo to neighbouring destinations during the morning and evening rush hours via the TOBU URBAN PARK Line. It also increases the number of trains providing services to the world heritage site Nikko and other areas outside Tokyo during both weekdays and weekends.

Thanks to easier commuting and transportation, passengers are expected to ride on the trains to a wider array of destinations, for purposes of sightseeing and commuting.

The train body is mainly coloured champagne beige with a green stripe running on the side, as the train's theme colour represents a composed and relaxed flow of time. 

Tobu Railway's conventional limited express Spacia trains continue to operate on the lines as usual.
