Lufthansa has appointed Becky Schmidt (37) as Manager Leisure and Specialist Sales for the UK & Ireland.

It is a natural step up for Schmidt who has been Lufthansa�s Manager Online and Direct Sales for the last seven years.

Announcing the appointment, Marianne Sammann, Lufthansa�s General Manager UK & Ireland said: �Lufthansa has seen positive growth in leisure travel in recent years and Becky Schmidt has been an integral part of our management team during this time. I am certain she is looking forward to the challenges ahead as we look to build on this even further. Lufthansa has a reputation for rewarding hard working staff and this promotion is richly deserved.�

Becky Schmidt replaces Elizabeth Price who has taken early retirement from Lufthansa.

She was promoted to Key Account Manager Leisure Sales in 1999 before taking up her previous role in 2001.

Outside of work, Schmidt enjoys travel, cinema, restaurants, galleries and architecture and is studying for a Foundation Certificate in the History of Architecture.
