Sea Kayaking Whitsundays has announced details of its new overnight Kayak Camping Packages, providing holidaymakers with the opportunity to add a touch of adventure to their stay on Hamilton Island, gateway to the Great Barrier Reef., Queensland. The two-day trips operate on selected dates from July to November and are an ideal way of exploring the numerous remote bays and coves of Hamilton and its neighbouring islands.

Beginning from Hamilton Island in the heart of the Whitsundays, the group paddles through the pristine environment, keeping an eye out for native green, loggerhead and hawksbill turtles, dolphins, dugongs and even humpback whales (between July and September). The bird life is as impressive as the marine life, with the chance to see white-breasted sea eagles, osprey and brahminy kites, all of which inhabit the area.

Lunch and a swim are enjoyed on Henning Island before the kayaks are pointed north along the west coast of Whitsunday Island to their overnight stop at the Sawmill Beach campsite, Cid Harbour. As the sun sets guides prepare the evening meal that is washed down with a few well-earned glasses of wine.

Day two of the expedition begins with an early morning walk followed by breakfast, before the group heads back on to the water and the kayaks are paddled around Cid Island to Henning Island for morning tea. Arguably the most eco-friendly way in which to explore the Whitsundays, the tour�s last port of call before returning to Hamilton is Dent Island, for lunch and snorkelling.

The price of the Kayak Camping Package is A$260 (approx. �100) per person, based on two people travelling on selected dates during July and November. This includes the use of kayaks and camping equipment, all meals, wine, water, snorkelling gear, park fees and the services of trained guides.
