Haven Invests - Haven will be re-investing over £50 million back in to their holiday parks for 2016 and there will be new swimming pools, restaurants, landscaping and pitch developments alongside new accommodation all being built over the coming months ready for the parks opening in March.

NEW: Thornwick Bay Holiday Park

Haven has bought a new holiday park - Thornwick Bay in Flamborough near Bridlington, this adds to the parks they already own in Yorkshire: Primrose Valley, Reighton Sands and Blue Dolphin holiday parks plus Far Grange for caravan ownership. 

The park will enjoy a £10million investment programme over the winter months including a new swimming pool, cafe bar, entertainment venue, an activity barn, play parks and an owner's lounge with its own cafe bar for those who own their own caravans on the park.

All the developments will take inspiration from its stunning location just minutes from Flamborough Head with its impressive 80m high cliffs which are home to many sea bird breeding colonies including Kittiwakes and gannets, the best time to see these is in April and May. There are two secluded bays perfect for sea fishing from the beach and spotting marine mammals such as Porpoise and Seals. Just along the coast at Bempton Cliffs is one of the best places in the UK for rock pooling.

Making the most of its natural surrounding the park lends itself to offering activities and entertainment that break away from the norm. The existing Haven Nature Rockz programme led by one of their Park Rangers Elliot Banks will be ramped up offering even more opportunities to get closer to nature with fossil casting, guided cave exploration and plenty of green open spaces for kids to run around. Families are encouraged to explore the local area and join in guided walks, hire a bike, Segways, Nordic walking, fishing in the well stocked lake, guided boat tours by the local fisherman or simply enjoy a stroll along the nature trail.  There will also be archery, fencing and target shooting for everyone and mini versions for the toddlers.

The park has a relaxed environment with musical street theatre 'Covent Garden' style entertainment, an outdoor cinema, stories around the campfire all aimed at offering families a taste of something a bit different. For those looking to step back in time they can look forward to seeing some medieval jousting during the summer holidays. The new Activity barn will offer pic 'n' paint and sand art.

NEW: Activities & Entertainment for 2016

Great Outdoors

• After huge success over the last two years with our 'Nature Rocks' activities, all 36 holiday parks will now have their own Park Rangers in 2016 offering a whole array of nature activities. You can choose between a range of activities, from bug hunt safaris, shelter building and fire lightings, pond dipping and guided nature trails to stone skimming tournaments and mini nature activities. 
• There will be new Nature Rockz activities for 2016, show off your creativity with 'Nature Bracelet Making' and 'Habitat Creations' or discover the great outdoors with our 'Pirates Treasure Hunt.'

For the pools

• The newly refurbished indoor pool complex at Craig Tara will see a second phase of development on its changing rooms.
• The indoor pool at Haggerston Castle is being refurbished and will be adding an array of exciting extras including a slide, water features in both the upper and lower pools as well as an enlarged reception area and children's pool.
• Burnham-on-Sea will see an extensive refurbishment of their outdoor pool including the decking outside the bar and restaurant. The pool will be fully tiled and include a new kids' pool with restricted depth and a feature 'bubble seat' zone. There will be an extensive sun bathing / relaxing terrace surfaced with artificial grass and soft landscaping. Alongside this there will be new outdoor changing facilities which will be created together with showers and WC facilities. The existing Café Bar decking will be enhanced to create an ideal viewing location for mums and dads.
• Riviere Sands will see a pool refurbishment that will include a separate kids' pool with decking, a new 2-lane, 10 metre slide, as well as an attractive sun terrace /area for relaxing.
• Primrose Valley will see not only a refurbished and extended indoor pool area there will be a new indoor pool built alongside the current one.
• The outdoor pool will be completely refurbished at The Orchards with new fun water features.
• Seton Sands will also have a fresh look for 2016 with a refurbished indoor pool.

Food and Drink

• The bar and restaurant at Berwick Holiday Park is being refurbished so it will have a gaming and drinking area set off from the main dining area, which will be varied in furnishings themed from the local activities and rich history of the town.
• The bar and restaurant at Blue Dolphin, Thorpe Park, Reighton Sands and Kiln Park are being refurbished so there will be even more opportunity for you to enjoy delicious meals.

FunStar and Seaside Squad activities

• We have a new interactive activity for children in 2016 called Fresh Air Fitness.

Evening Entertainment

• Touring the Haven parks in 2016 will be two true family favourites! The first is everyone's favourite sheep, that's right Shaun the Sheep will be visiting our parks along with CBeebies celebrity Tree Fu Tom coming all the way from Treetopolis.
• The FunStar team are coming back stronger than ever with loads of new shows for you. There's 'Carnaby Street W1' featuring some of the best tunes celebrating the greatest hits of the 50's & 60's that will have you twisting & shouting for more. You can also enjoy 'Caravan of Love' which features some quintessential heartfelt hits of old & new with an acoustic twist.
• After huge success, Seaside Cirque will be returning in 2016 to amaze our guests with an international cast of circus talent.
• It's time to put your skills to the test with the arrival of Guinness World Records on Haven parks in 2016, see if you can become a world record breaker. 
• Haven welcome back their touring pantomime for 2016 which will be the famous tale of Jack and the Beanstalk.
• 'FunStars Buzz Live' comes to Haven parks in 2016, this new interactive quiz show will really test your trivia and get the whole family involved.
• For 2016 Cala Gran, Combe Haven, Craig Tara, Devon Cliffs, Littlesea, Primrose Valley and The Orchards will have refurbished ShowBars to make the evening entertainment even more enjoyable.

Pitch Developments for 2016

• There will be a whole array of caravan pitch developments coming for 2016, these will be at Blue Dolphin, Caister-on-Sea, Craig Tara, Devon Cliffs, Far Grange, Haggerston Castle, Lakeland, Perran Sands, Primrose Valley, Rockley Park and Seton Sands. The largest of these developments will be at Primrose Valley who will receive 40 new pitches in 'The Bay' area and Craig Tara who will receive 27 new caravan pitches and 6 lodge pitches.
• Haggerston Castle will also receive a new Owner's Club, where their owners can relax and enjoy a coffee.
• Lakeland will gain an additional touring block.
