New Great Florida Getaways Encourages Floridians to Grab their Bags for Adventure

Visit Florida

VISIT FLORIDA, the state's official source for travel planning, is pleased to provide Florida residents with an insider's guide to Florida travel with the 2004 edition of Great Florida Getaways, a Floridian's guide to Florida.

The guide presents what is fresh and exciting from the perspective of nationally-recognized travel writers who call Florida home. According to a recent Travel Industry Association of America survey, Floridians live in the most desired vacation destination in the United States with 38 percent of those surveyed looking to visit the pleasant peninsula. The longer summer days give more time to explore what's new or revisit favorite areas of the Sunshine State.

The 224-page guide features lifestyle-oriented articles on themes such as romantic escapes, family travel, aviation, luxury travel, driving tours, golf, cultural/heritage and more. City area indexes offer readers additional direction for lifestyle activities and ideas for accommodations, attractions, dining, and visitor services.

Floridians may receive a complimentary copy of the new guide at local Burdines-Macy's department stores, by calling 888-7-FLA-USA or visiting www.FLAUSA.com and clicking on "Tools," then "Vacation Guide."

Great Florida Getaways debuted in May 2000 and is produced for VISIT FLORIDA by Miles Media Group in Sarasota.
