New From ACE Cultural Tours - Sri Lanka: A Wildlife Odyssey

ACE Cultural Tours

Brand new for 2015, ACE Cultural Tours introduces Sri Lanka: A Wildlife Odyssey.

Sri Lanka has captivated emperors and explorers alike, with its breath-taking landscapes, abundant flora and fauna, and remarkable historic sites dating back over a thousand years.

Journey through lush green forests, highland plateaux, wetlands and coastal plains, in search of some of the largest and most celebrated mammals in the world. Blue whales are often spotted near the coast, and in the diverse terrain of Yala National Park we look out for the Asian elephant, Sri Lankan leopard, spotted deer, water buffalo and more.

Ascend the steps to the citadel of Sigiriya, built by kings on the top of a huge gneiss outcrop over 200 metres high, and explore further World Heritage sites including the sacred city of Kandy and the ancient city of Polonnaruwa – atmospheric locations to encounter a stunning range of birds and butterflies.

This new tour is led by Marcus Kohler, an ecologist, ornithologist and horticulturalist, who is currently Senior Programme Manager at Birdlife International.

Sri Lanka: A Wildlife Odyssey, 1–14 Feb 2015; £3175
