New For 2013 A Dell-Ightful Cornish Cliff-Top Escape With Spectacular Uninterrupted Sea Views

Blue Chip Holidays

The Dell, a chic cliff-top chalet retreat with uninterrupted views out over Whitsand Bay, is the latest waterside escape to join Blue Chip Holidays. Perfect for romantic couples and honeymooners, this enchanting Cornish cliff-side escape has exceptional views both from the living area and from the cool glass fronted decking.

This unusual and intriguing bolt-hole offers the perfect place for a restful retreat where only the waves and cool sea breeze are likely to stir you.  Available for both short breaks and week-long stays, three nights can be booked from just £262 while and week starts from £359, rising to £1,309 in late July and August.  For bookings call 0844 7044987 or visit www.bluechipholidays.co.uk

Inside, the main living area is lined with wood panelling finished with calming Farrow & Ball creams creating a cosy coastal feel.  Stylish beach inspired décor includes driftwood hangings, a beautifully finished driftwood side table and a stylish seashell inlayed coffee table.  Nautically inspired cushions are scattered throughout and there’s even a sign for the beach.

When you’re not indulging in a best-seller you can curl up together on the cream sofa to watch a movie on the flatscreen TV or go online via Wi-Fi.

Opening onto the living room is the well equipped kitchen and dining area featuring an attractive distressed dining table and chichi director’s chairs finished in deckchair striped material.  The kitchen itself comes with an oven, grill, hob, fridge, and a good selection of utensils and accessories including a cafetiere, kettle and toaster.

Off the main living room lies the cosy and romantic en-suite bedroom, furnished with a good sized double bed, flanked by pretty side tables and lighthouse inspired lamps.  In addition to a handsome chest of drawers and decorative French gilt dressing mirror, the bedroom includes a cleverly designed hanging area plus suspended storage with pull out weaved baskets for bits and bobs.  In keeping with this ingenious use of space, the owners have utilised a traditional rope ladder to provide the perfect place to hang your beach towels.

Leading on from the bedroom is the en-suite bathroom, which has been finished with a shower, wash basin, large mirror, cabinet, WC and large heated towel rail.

Outside lies the impressive suspended L-shaped decking that takes you out over sloped cliff edge.  Here you can sit and watch both the sun set and the stars rise from the stylish sun loungers, and there’s no better place for an alfresco meal than the circular picnic table.

If you prefer to eat out the Award winning ‘The View’ restaurant is just a two minute drive away.  Perched high on the cliffs above Whitsand Bay near Millbrook, this great little restaurant has some of the best views in the country and serves sumptuous fresh fish that are all sourced from local suppliers.  This beguilingly beautiful spot even rivals the view from The Dell.

If you’re feeling adventurous Whitsand Bay offers a 4 mile stretch of sandy beach to explore.   There’s also a surf school at the base of Tregonhawke Cliff, just few minutes away.

Nearby Millbrook offers a good range of shops and three pubs.  It even has its own Creek and yacht marina.

Slightly further away are the historic villages of Kingsand and Cawsand, which can be reached by car within ten minutes.  As well as visiting a selection of pretty village pubs and cafes you can take a stroll through the narrow streets, lined with colour washed cottages, to find the famous Devon Corn, a house which still bears the marker for the old Cornish and Devon border.  In addition to the delights of the well know Panache art gallery, you can relax on the sandy beaches and enjoy a drink from the nearby bars.
