Limited Edition tours, like AmaWaterways’ regular shore excursion programme, are included in the price of the cruise, although numbers are restricted to make the experience more personal. Themes may include food and wine, cycling on the fleet of bicycles carried on each European ship, arts and crafts; or exploring a city’s hidden treasures with a local.

Examples of the new tours include a visit to a traditional Viennese coffee house to try the traditional range of coffees and a slice of Sachertorte, followed by a cellar tour to sample Austrian sparking wine; or in Cologne, a visit that discovers the history of the famous Eau de Cologne. In Portugal, form Oporto, travel to a farm that manufactures cork products to learn all about the local cork industry and visit the family’s private museum.
