LEGOLAND� California unveiled two more attractions today commemorating the family theme park�s fifth birthday. Dino Island was opened to hundreds of eager guests who traveled to a time when only dinosaurs roamed the earth. Coaster fans young and old were the first to climb aboard Coastersaurus, the newest roller coaster to the 128-acre theme park. Reaching speeds of more than 20 miles per hour, this roller coaster climbs, curves and dips around a prehistoric jungle of animated and life-sized LEGO� brick dinosaurs. An 1,100-pound Brachiosaurus peers at riders as it takes a dip in a pond while a ten-foot tall Parasaurolophus scavenges for food and a Styracosaurus sniffs for nearby predators. These prehistoric beasts were created from hundreds of thousands of LEGO bricks.

Just steps away, young guests became honorary junior paleontologists at Dig Those Dinos. Dino fans descended into a 2,400 square foot pit containing tons of sand to dig up fake claws, teeth and bones, as well as full size skeleton reproductions. After digging and dusting off the bones, guests took their finds to a Fossil ID Station to learn more about the dinosaur they have discovered.

�Dino Island brings out the explorer in all guests, both young and old,� says President and General Manager John Jakobsen. �I love to see the look on the children�s faces when they uncover the fossils of a Brachiosaurus. What a great way for guests to learn about dinosaurs and have fun at the same time.�

An added element to Dino Island is Raptor Splash: an area where families can man four battle stations equipped with water balloon launchers. The balloon soars high through the air and comes crashing down on the opponent�s battle station. Strategically placed slots and holes in the structure allow water to rush through. You might get sprinkled, sprayed or saturated, but watch out, retaliation comes quickly!

For added fun, families can climb inside �Megga-Egga-Saurus� or lie inside a life-sized dinosaur footprint to get an idea of the enormity of these amazing animals.

In addition to Coastersaurus and Dig Those Dinos, LEGOLAND will be opening a total of five new attractions in 2004 to honor the park�s fifth birthday. Block of Fame, which combines history and classic art in a tree-lined walkway of LEGO busts and a three-dimensional art gallery, opened Presidents Day weekend. Fun Town Fire Academy, a competitive interactive ride in which families power their own fire truck across a straightaway and pump water through a hose to put out a �burning� building, opens May 28. On June 18, just before Father�s day, Miniland Florida will be added to Miniland USA to include Cape Canaveral and the famous Daytona International Speedway. Guests will be able to remotely race LEGO brick cars around the racetrack!
