BOOK EXCLUSIVE ISLAND USE OR EVENTS UP TO 300 DELEGATES FROM MAY 2019
AUSTRALIA'S REEF RESORT SET TO REOPEN FOLLOWING $US71.3 MILLION REDESIGN
October 2018: Daydream Island Resort, dreamily located in Australia's Whitsundays, is set to redefine reef paradise for incentives and events when it reopens in 2019 following a US$70 million plus refurbishment. With 277 guest rooms and suites, the premium 4.5-star tropical resort boasts an unrivalled position between the Queensland mainland and the Great Barrier Reef, for exclusive use or events up to 300 delegates.
The island resort is easily reached with flights from Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane through the Great Barrier Reef Airport on Hamilton Island or Whitsunday Coast Airport at Proserpine, with a short boat journey. The stunning new-look resort is an inspirational destination for meetings, product launches and incentive or team building events.
Daydream Island Resort offers a maximum theatre-capacity of 300 people, complementing a 44ft Open Air Cinema with banquet seating for 250, that makes it ideal for awards ceremonies, yet still provides intimate settings for break-out sessions and personalised dinners and receptions. Five indoor spaces and a sunset-facing terrace provide flexible and fully-equipped settings for corporate or group occasions.
Incentive guests can enjoy The Living Reef, a free-form coral lagoon wrapping 200 metres around the resort and over 1.5 million litres of water. Resident marine biologists interact, in sustainable ways, with over 100 species of marine fish, coral, and invertebrates such as starfish, sea cucumbers and crabs, and offer engaging activities such as feeding young stingrays. In addition, the surrounding Great Barrier Reef Marine Park can be explored by sail boat or jet ski, whilst helicopter and snorkelling sightseeing experiences provide different perspectives of Australia's great national wonder. The Living Reef also features a new Underwater Observatory, ideal for intimate VIP events for up to 30 guests.
Daydream Island Resort offers three bars for networking and socialising, and three restaurants offering menus designed by Executive Chef, Queenslander Bradley Martin, to showcase regional produce and cuisine.
Jayson Heron, Daydream Island Resort's Director of Sales & Marketing, says: “From next May, incentive guests and event delegates will once again be able to enjoy our unrivalled setting at the heart of the natural splendour of the Whitsundays and Great Barrier Reef.”
“Ecological protection and sustainable access to our marine environment are at the forefront of all we do,” added Heron. “A priority for the resort is ensuring staff and guests alike can contribute to preserving and protecting the world's largest living structure whilst enjoying an unmatched events location.”
Heron concluded: “Offering a quintessential Australian welcome, our revitalised resort is the perfect island paradise setting for meetings, events, conferences and launches which demand the highest hospitality standards with personalised flair.”
Half day and full day delegate packages begin at A$70 (US$49) and A$85 (US$60) per person respectively, based on a minimum of 25 guests. The resort is also available for exclusive use, for on average A$500,000 (US 356,000) for three-day hire. Daydream Island Resort is taking bookings now for events, conferences and incentive groups from May 2019.
