Mantra Hotels has taken delegate safety to new depths with the launch of its free* surf safety presentation offer, available at four of its most popular conferencing venues in Queensland.

Each 15 minute session is conducted by Surf Life Saving Queensland's (SLSQ) community awareness team and includes vital information on basic water safety tips, the various types of flags, how to spot a rip current and what to do if you're caught in one, sun safety tips, information on marine stingers and dangerous creatures, and a brief introduction to lifesaving equipment.

The offer, which is available at Peppers Noosa Resort & Villas and Mantra Mooloolaba Beach on the Sunshine Coast and Mantra Legends Hotel and Mantra on View Hotel on the Gold Coast, supports Mantra Hotels' long-standing partnership with SLSQ.

Mantra Hotels and SLSQ have been working together to help reduce beach fatalities along the Queensland coastline since partnering in June 2017.

Mantra Group Executive Director of Sales, Marketing, Revenue & Distribution, Luke Moran, said the presentations focus on educating delegates about surf safety and support SLSQ's vision for zero preventable deaths in Queensland public waters.

“With all four participating properties located along the Queensland coastline, we feel it's also our responsibility to raise water safety awareness and to let our delegates know the only place to swim in the surf is between the flags,” said Mr Moran.

“The presentations aim to change behaviours and save lives through education and increased understanding of vital beach safety messages in a fun and relaxed environment.”

SLSQ Chief Executive Officer John Brennan OAM said their partnership with Mantra Hotels centers around various initiatives designed to promote a healthy active lifestyle and safety on and off Queensland beaches.
