New Chalets, New Website, New Coffee… Meriski Launches 2015/16 Season

Meriski

Meriski, the luxury catered chalet operator in the French resort of Méribel, is launching two brand-new properties, a revamped website, and a host of fun extras for guests – including a reviving cuppa made from a new coffee roast – for the 2015-16 season.

NEW CHALETS

Chalet Le Grenier is currently being built opposite the Morel chairlift, offering direct access to the slopes. Due to complete construction in October, the 550sq m chalet will have six en-suite bedrooms, sleeping 12, a huge living area with a triple-height window overlooking the valley, and luxury facilities including a Jacuzzi, sauna, gym and, to aid weary limbs, a lift. From €36,000 (£25,997) per week, the chalet is only available to book as a whole property.

Chalet Kashmir, also currently under construction, will be ready for the new season, too. A six-bedroom, six-bathroom, spacious chalet, which sleeps 12, and set in a peaceful location in La Gittaz. Wow factors include a master suite with private balcony and an outdoor hot tub on the south-west facing terrace. Price from £12,950 per week, it will be available to book as a whole chalet and, on selected dates, as a shared chalet.

Also new this winter, is K2, a super-chalet for up to 22 people comprising Chalet Kashmir and its neighbouring sister property Chalet Kalliste. Crucially, groups booking K2 won't have to eat apart – Meriski's chefs will be able to serve dinner for the whole group in one of the properties. Price from £23,350 per week.

Chalet Le Grenier, Chalet Kashmir and K2 are Prestige Meriski Chalets, according to a new grading system launched for this winter. To help guests choose the right chalet for their requirements, the Meriski team has categorised the 10 properties in its collection according to three levels – Traditional, Luxury and Prestige – to give a sense of the different standards of the interiors.

NEW WEBSITE

All Meriski's news for the season can be found on its revamped website. Meriski.co.uk is now packed with information to help guests create a great holiday, on and off the piste – from advice on equipment hire, to downloadable maps of ski areas across the 3 Vallées, and recommendations on the best bars and restaurants. On the new Concierge page guests can benefit from Meriski's long experience and close contacts in the resort.

NEW COFFEE

Meriski is renowned for the high standard of food and drink served in its chalets and, for 2016, the menu will also feature a specially developed mountain blend from Cirencester-based Rave Coffee, which will be freshly ground in all its chalets this winter.

Spirits from Herefordshire-based Chase, the only single-estate distillery in Britain, founded by the creators of Tyrrell's Potato Crisps, will be available to guests to sample, when booking a whole chalet. Chase grows, mashes and distils spirits on its Herefordshire farm and is a familiar brand on the shelves of Harvey Nichols, Selfridges and Fortnum & Mason.

Notes to editors:

Meriski, run by directors Colin Mathews and Huw Davies, has been providing accommodation in Méribel for more than 30 years. The company has a reputation for fine service and excellent food, with chalets chosen for their superb aspect and luxurious interiors and staffed by friendly and efficient
hosts. Chefs are handpicked for their flair and passion for food, and all have worked in professional catering establishments.

Meriski is the only chalet operator in the resort with a dedicated crèche. It also offers a private in-chalet nanny service. Plus, there's a ski school collection for children who require lunch and afternoon childcare. Facilities in the chalets include toboggans, Bluetooth speakers, TVs and DVD players, books, music and DVD libraries, Nintendo Wiis, toys and game boxes. Internet access is free, too. A supervised high tea is served for children at about 5.30-6pm each day, allowing adults some grown-up time.

Meriski holidays are priced for chalet board accommodation only, but the team can offer advice on travel to the resort. The nearest airports are at Chambéry, Geneva and Lyon plus train services run from St Pancras International to Moûtiers.
