Passengers on board Spirit of Tasmania I and II now have another option for Bass Strait sea travel business class seats available from 1 February 2004.
Chief Executive Peter Simmons said the 146 seats, located at the rear of deck eight, were extremely comfortable.
Each seat reclines and features an individual reading light, he said.
The seats are located in a secure area accessible only by swipe card.
The area also features six disabled passenger seats and storage for passenger belongings.
Mr Simmons said business seat fares would be $180 during the peak season, $155 during the shoulder season and $145 during the off peak season.
The construction of this new area was undertaken by Taylor Brothers, of Hobart with design of the area provided by Spear Green Design.
The company was also awarded the contract for building the new crew cabins on both vessels.
Mr Simmons said TT-Line was delighted with the first class work undertaken by the company.
Demand for travel to Tasmania and return by sea is continuing to grow, he said.
We are confident the new business class seating area will prove attractive to passengers and provide yet another alternative for Bass Strait sea travel.
