Visitors are flocking to The Eagle at Victoria's Arthurs Seat State Park, the new all-weather gondola experience which offers spectacular views of Port Phillip Bay and the Mornington Peninsula.
Board the state-of-the-art gondola and glide above the state forest to the scenic peak of the Mornington Peninsula. The ride delivers a buffet of breathtaking views from the sight across the bay to Melbourne to spotting native wildlife as you soar high above the trees. Arthurs Seat will leave you with a profound sense of Victoria's beauty.
The gondola lets you enjoy an eagle eye's view within the safety and comfort of a contemporary gondola cabin as you travel from the Base Station in Dromana to the Summit Station at the top of Arthurs Seat.
The Eagle is found in Arthurs Seat State Park which is home to a diverse range of native animals including kangaroos, koalas, powerful owl and, of course, the wedge-tailed eagle.
The ride has 24 gondolas with each comfortably holding up to 8 guests to and from the Arthurs Seat Summit. The ride provides a 30-minute round trip.
Facilities include a toilet block specifically created to meet the needs of people with severe disabilities. The toilet block contains a Changing Places facility that lets people with severe disabilities and their carers go out for a full day with the assurance that their needs will be met.
As well as the gondola Arthurs Seat State Park offers a great chance to explore the Australian Bush and encounter kangaroos and other native Australian wildlife.
While you are visiting, make sure you leave time to grab a snack or enjoy a meal in the Eagle Café, or stretch your legs on one of the many walking trails through the Arthurs Seat State Park. Visitors can also take a short walk to neighbouring Seawinds Gardens which offers European and Indigenous gardens, breath taking views from the Matthew Flinders Cann walk, indigenous themed sculptures from the celebrated sculptor William Ricketts and bush hiking trails.
The Eagle is Victoria's first all accessible nature based tourism attraction and the toilet block includes a changing places facility that allows people with severe disabilities and their carers to go out for a full day with the confidence that their needs will be met.
