  • What do nemo do? By combining immense personal service and travel expertise with innovative tech, we create and deliver exceptional trips for modern travellers. 
  • Started in Sep 2019, nemo have pivoted and grown during the pandemic with month on month sales growth since May 2020. 
  • We've planned and delivered exceptional trips to all corners of the world during the pandemic. From solo travellers to the Okavango Delta to group trips to Morocco and honeymoons to Mallorca.
  • With a reactive and social-first marketing approach, we have moved into new markets with travellers from the UK, US, Switzerland, Norway, Hong Kong and more.
  • By being agile, we have been able to service travellers in a unique way with each rule change. E.g. taking 2 hours to rearrange a full honeymoon (from Portugal to Mallorca) after it was put on the UK red list.
  • Our travel obsessed community is growing and global. Our Instagram following has gone from 3k to 10k since March 2020, our subscribers have gone from 1k to 11k. 
  • We have 100% 5* Trustpilot reviews and our travellers would love to chat to you! 
  • We've just completed our Seed Round (£160k), this is just the start… 

Growing in a pandemic

Just 6 months into their launch, and still being a fresh face in the industry, you'd think the pandemic slamming the breaks on international travel might prove worrisome. Not for nemo, Tom and James (co-founders) saw an opportunity to expand with their traveller-first approach, never before has travel insight been so in-demand, the challenge was how to leverage it. When most other travel companies went quiet, nemo began forging their path ahead and became a trusted voice to their wanderlust-eager audience through their Instagram, newsletter and website. 

Using the travel cessation to their advantage, they learnt to pivot according to travel rules and travellers' demands, ensured flexible payment plans and refunds were part of the service, and continued to inspire their travellers. And we managed this growth whilst remaining true to our values of providing exceptional hotels and trips, maintaining our ethical and sustainable ethos, and always ensuring fantastic customer service and guidance throughout. 

The pivoting paid off, 110 bespoke trips have already been planned in 2021, a 500% increase from 2020. Thanks to word getting around about our personal and transparent approach, we've had an 80% increase from enquiries Q1 2021 to Q2 2021, so things are certainly not slowing down yet. 

When other's scaled back, nemo doubled in size

After a successful round of investment, Tom and James started to grow the team and have big plans to scale nemo into an industry leading travel planning platform that combines their expertise with innovative tech. 

They are developing a company culture that's as modern as the community of travellers who love the brand. Whilst their expanding team are passionate about exploring the world first-hand, they come with mixed industry experience, providing fresh and exciting views on travel and the brand as a whole.

Launched by seasoned travellers and industry experts, Tom & James built nemo with the modern traveller in mind. 

Tom Harding

Having managed safari lodges, desert camps in Oman and a street food restaurant, adventure and entrepreneurship has always been close at hand. The idea for nemo came from a desire to challenge the norm and create incredible experiences.  

James Wales

James grew up adventuring and has worked in travel for 8 years, firstly in London and India with the Indian specialist, Greaves, followed by 5 years at the award winning Black Tomato, where he met Tom.
