The Washington DC-based strategist – who is director of digital strategy across the brand's contests and campaigns, including the National Geographic Travel Photo Contest and National Geographic Photo Contest – has a 17-year breadth of career experience in travel reportage, photography and media strategy. She previously served as senior leader of digital content strategy for National Geographic's Travel and Adventure verticals.
Prior to joining Nat Geo, Sarah worked at AOL, The Washington Post and Smithsonian.
“We're very pleased to welcome Sarah to the speaker line-up at our next event,” says Bootcamp co-founder, Georgia Rickard. “Her significant industry experience, and enormous contributions to the international travel photojournalism community make her a valuable inclusion to the program.”
“I'm delighted to speak at The Travel Bootcamp and excited for the opportunity to connect with a new generation of travel professionals. Supporting the Travel Bootcamp's mission to prepare creative professionals for our modern travel industry will be a fantastic experience,” Polger said.
Polger's inclusion in the event comes following the announcement of The Bootcamp's newly-formed alignment with TravMedia as media sponsor for the event.
Polger is the first guest speaker to be announced in the line-up. She'll feature alongside well-known New Zealand travel media personality, Kyle Mulinder, who was recently named as event MC.
They join a Bootcamp program featuring its three co-founders: acclaimed travel photographer and Olympus ambassador Lauren Bath, multi-award-winning journalist and Virgin Australia Magazine Editor at large, Georgia Rickard and Young Adventuress travel personality Liz Carlson.
