Give me the National Civil Rights Museum for $1,000 Alex!

The Emmy Award winning game show JEOPARDY! will feature the National Civil Rights Museum as a category on Thursday, February 26th .

The JEOPARDY! film crew visited the Museum in the summer of 2003 and filmed several segments on site in preparation for the February 2004 show. The show was created in 1964 by Merv Griffin and is seen by an estimated 12 million viewers daily.

Jeopardys Researcher, Lorraine Axeman says, I have always wanted to visit the Museum and when notified that would we (JEOPARDY) be featuring the National Civil Rights Museum as a category I was excitedI know that it will be a profound experience for everyone.

Executive Director of the Museum, Beverly Robertson said it was a great tribute to Black History month and to the legacy of the civil rights movement, Each year the Museum hosts thousands of young people as a part of Black History Month, but this exposure will reach millions of people who we hope will feel compelled to make the visit to Memphis and experience the Museums living history exhibits.

The national exposure of the National Civil Rights Museum is the latest in a series of national televised programs in the past year, including ABCs NBA Inside Stuff, ABCs Good Morning America, The BSmith Style show, the Discovery Channel, the Travel Channel and the Public Broadcasting System (PBS).
