Ramblers Worldwide Holidays - the experts in guided walking adventures across the globe - have just launched a new two week, three centre holiday in Murcia - a relatively undiscovered mountainous region known as 'La Huerta de Europe' - the orchard of Europe.

First 'stop' is on the southern flank of the Sierra Espuña with walks in its regenerated Sierra highlands, which are due largely to the work of one man conservationist and forester Ricardo Codorniu who campaigned for the reforestation of the park which is now legendary.

Next leg of the journey includes the lovely city of Murcia itself and the rugged mountains surrounding the lush Ricotte Valley - one of the last Moorish communities in Spain before their final expulsion in the 17th Century.  Walks have views over the valley and the Ojos reservoir.

Next 'port of call' is La Manga Club - a luxury resort beyond the rather brash La Manga strip and beyond the Calblanque Park boundary.  Coastal paths, old military lookout points and 'Guns of Navarone' emplacements are much in evidence.

Accommodation is in three four star properties - the Hotel Monasterio de Santa Eulalia; the Arco de San Juan Hotel and the Las Lomas Village at La Manga Club.
