Multimillion-Dollar Refurbishment Nears Completion to Bring New Look and Fresh Appeal to Novotel Cairns Oasis Resort

Novotel Cairns Oasis Resort is poised to unveil a contemporary new look this summer with its million-dollar refurbishment on schedule to conclude in December.

“We are just coming out the other side of what has been an extensive 15-month renovation project designed to completely revitalise the property,” explained Novotel Cairns Oasis General Manager, Scott Grant. “We're very excited about the hotel's new look, which we think captures the spirit of Far North Queensland and everything the Novotel brand has to offer business, leisure and family holiday guests.”

Novotel's guest rooms, public areas, bars, restaurant and conference rooms have all undergone a transformation to better reflect the four and a half-star hotel's position as one of the premier business and leisure destinations in the city.

The first phase of renovation has already been completed, introducing two revitalised food and beverage venues in time for the spring season - MOKU Bar & Grill and MOKU Beach Club.

A tropical sanctuary where good vibes begin and summer never ends, MOKU Beach Club is located poolside and serves up mojitos, margaritas, and martinis at Cairns' only swim-up bar.

MOKU Bar & Grill – ideal for guests and the public - offers relaxed coastal dining and delicious local-inspired fare, with seasonal favourites such as whole fried baby barramundi, and twice-cooked pork knuckle with smoked root vegetables. Alternatively, guests can graze on share plates while retreating to a daybed or relaxed seating, with regular music and entertainment on offer.

In addition, five 'revamped' meeting spaces have also been relaunched to the business and incentive events market this month, ideal for small to medium conferences with a capacity of up to 200 delegates. Each indoor meeting space boasts an abundance of natural light plus updated audio-visual facilities, while Novotel's vast grounds are ideal for outdoor events and team building activities.

The final phase of refurbishment, which will conclude in December, has focussed on Novotel's 314 guest rooms, not least of all a full refurbishment of 204 bright, light and spacious Deluxe Rooms.

Offering a new level of comfort and quality, Novotel's Deluxe Room update includes new timber looking flooring and cabinetry, and a chic new colour palate of teal and purple hues, inspired by the tropics.  All rooms offer a private balcony, and provide a choice of view to enjoy scenery overlooking resort gardens, the lagoon pool and or relaxed mountain landscapes.

Every guest room has also been updated with modern technology and facilities including 55 inch Samsung Smart LCD televisions, a convenient table for two, mini-bar fridge and renovated bathrooms and showers.

A variety of bedding configurations are also available to accommodate the needs of different guests including one king bed, two double beds or three single bed options. Accessible room types and rooms with interconnecting doors are also available, catering to those with specific needs or for larger families.

"In our refurbished guest rooms, we've tried to evoke the spirit of a modern oasis for guests through our carefully curated update, inspired by the tropics,” said Mr Grant.

“The same stands for our two new food and beverage outlets, where we offer South Pacific inspired experiences from our indoor/outdoor bar, to our alfresco restaurant and poolside beach club.  The investment means we can offer a more competitive product in both the hotel and food and beverage space meaning new work opportunities for Cairns locals too."

Novotel worked with Myriad Design Group, plus local Cairns builders including RC Harders and Jonelle Constructions, to bring the new look to life.

Set in two hectares of lush grounds the much-loved Novotel Cairns Oasis Resort is just 5 minutes-walk to Reef Fleet Terminal, departure point for all Great Barrier Reef cruises, and the city's vibrant Cairns Esplanade featuring boutiques, restaurants and entertainment areas.

Novotel Cairns Oasis Resort is owned by Shakespeare Property Group, an experienced hotel investor in Australia, with a string of projects in major centres along the east coast. In addition to the Novotel in Cairns, Shakespeare Group owns Pullman Cairns International, Novotel Sunshine Coast and the new Sunshine Coast Convention Centre - all managed  by Australia's largest hotel group, Accor.

Standard room rates at the Novotel Cairns Oasis Resort start from A$150, and Deluxe Rooms from A$180 per room per night (subject to availability). A free upgrade offer from a Standard Room into a Deluxe Room for guests who book and stay from 1 October 2019 to 31 March 2020. To take advantage of this Spring into Novotel offer click here.
