An Organic Day Out A relaxing, organic day out in Brighton is bound to make your mum feel special and rejuvenated, and if you want to stay for a few days the Paskins Town House, an environmentally friendly hotel, is the perfect place to stay. Start your seaside break by treating your mum to some flotation tank therapy at the Float Space before heading to The Earth and Stars for lunch. This environmentally-balanced pub offers sumptuous organic food and beer in an eco-stylish environment with lots of reclaimed furniture and chilled-out sounds. You can then spend the afternoon strolling round the shops, taking an invigorating walk along the beach or treating your mum to some naughty but ever so nice organic truffles at Montezumas chocolate shop. If thats not enough rest and relaxation then finish off the day with a laid-back meal at Coriander, an innovative organic restaurant that serves food from Central and South America and North Africa.

A Top Treat for the Taste buds Top of the list for many mums would be a memorable meal out at a Michelin-starred restaurant. Two of the newly-awarded options are located in Cumbrias Taste District: LEnclume and The Samling. LEnclume is set in the historic village of Cartmel and combines excellent food with rooms for overnight guests. Chef and patron Simon Rogan believes in using natural ingredients in an unusual way - it is claimed that his menu will surprise any diner. The Samling is a beautiful luxury hotel built in the late 1700s and located in 67 acres of wild flowers, woodland, gardens and fields and it enjoys a commanding view of Lake Windermere. A Fantastic Feast However, if your budget doesnt quite stretch to taking your mum out then why not bring the best of English food and wine to her? With a fantastic selection of regional delicacies and fresh local produce on sale across the country there are no excuses for not indulging you mother on her special day. From organic markets and local delis, to family butchers and farm shops theres a fantastic array of food outlets across the country all brimming with delicious delights which are bound to make your mouth water. England also boasts some award-winning vineyards so buy a bottle of English bubbly and make your mum a bucks fizz breakfast in bed.

A Master Class for Dad What could be better than a present your mother can enjoy for the rest of the year? Why not send dad to one of the many cookery schools located throughout the country so that he can cook up culinary delights for your wonderful mum time and time again! The Ashburton Cookery School in Devon offers dedicated mens cookery classes as well as a special cooking with chillies course and the village bakery in Melmerby in Penrith offers bread-making courses run by artisan baker Andrew Whitely.
