Last year the Slovene national airline Adria Airways increased the number of flights by seven percent and carried 944, 288 passengers on its 20,122 flights, which was seven percent more than the previous year. Adria's 20 scheduled routes throughout Europe served 757,651 passengers, which was one percent less than the previous year and there was a 56-percent increase (186,637) in the number of passengers on the charter flights that primarily serve Mediterranean holiday destinations. Adria's passenger cabins operated at 63.5 percent capacity, or ten percent over the year before.
In December 2005 Adria`s 1,574 flights (a 14- percent increase) served 62,685 passengers, which is 15 percent more than in December 2004. There were 58,410 passengers on scheduled routes or 11 percent more than the previous year, and 4,275 passengers on charter flights (a 159-percent increase).
Cargo transport decreased since last August. Since September, when a cargo aircraft was leased-in and two cargo routes were introduced, the cargo transport is going up. Cargo transport was up eight percent in November and three percent in December, bringing the previous year total to over 3000 tonnes of cargo.
