In January 2006, Adria Airways increased its number of flights by eight percent to a total of 1, 593 flights that carried 63,049 passengers, which is an increase of 10 percent above January 2005. Adria's approximately 180 scheduled weekly flights to 17 European cities served 59,999 passengers, which was 11 percent above January 2005. There were 3, 050 passengers on the charter flights that Adria operates for travel agencies and that primarily serve Mediterranean holiday destinations. The passenger load factor was 10 percent above January 2005.
In the first half of February 2006 Adria`s 778 flights (a 10- percent increase) served 30,911 passengers, which is 24 percent above the same period of the year 2005.
In May 2006, Adria Airways is to introduce three new scheduled routes from Ljubljana. The new routes are:
-Rome: the service will operate four times a week on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays. -Barcelona: the service will operate two times a week on Thursdays and Sundays. -Tirana: the service will operate six times a week, with three midday routes and three evening flights.
