SPECIALIST OPERATOR ANNOUNCES NEW BURMA EXPERIENCES AND REDUCED PRICES
Leading Asia specialist, Travel Indochina, has reduced its pricing across all its escorted small group journeys to Burma, a destination which is seeing a surge of interest thanks to recent BBC television shows including the Top Gear: Burma special. These exciting price reductions are available for all departures from May 2014 until March 2015, and come at a time when the operator has further enhanced the content of its itineraries following customer feedback.
Among the options available is the 10-day 'Highlights of Burma' small group journey which visits Yangon, Bagan, Mandalay and Inle Lake. The itinerary has been extended by one day to increase the number of fantastic experiences, including a horse and carriage ride through the Bagan plains at sunset and a boat trip to meet the friendly locals at a little-visited village on the Irrawaddy river. Travel Indochina customers also have exclusive access to an 'Insider Experience' visiting a local nunnery near Mandalay to share lunch with the pink-robed resident nuns. Reduced prices start from £1,805 per person.
Alternatively, Travel Indochina's 'Burma Revealed' journey takes in the key highlights of the 10-day tour with the added inclusion of Pindaya Caves and Kalaw Hill Station. Guests of Travel Indochina will spend 13 days exploring this exotic land as they discover thousands of temples in Bagan by bicycle; take a trip to a local countryside school run by monks in Ava; and hop aboard a local train to journey through stunning scenery for a taste of local life in this remote region. Reduced prices start from £2,295 per person.
To complement the new tour pricing, Travel Indochina has introduced several brand new 'Insider Experiences' in Burma for 2014. Those travelling on the 'Highlights of Burma' tour can barter with the locals at the Jade Market in Mandalay which remains largely free from tourists, and enjoy an additional night at Inle Lake to relax at one of the country's most picturesque sites. Those following the 'Burma Revealed' itinerary can spend a day with the elephants, observing their 'oozies' (mahouts) washing and feeding these amazing animals, and take a light trek through the spectacular Shan Hills, among other new experiences on offer in 2014.
If that's not enough, Travel Indochina's online blog is packed with travel tips and striking imagery to inspire those with an interest in Burma. As well as detailing what's new in the country and showcasing some of the best images from around the web, users will find guides to the top Burmese restaurants and the best times to go.
Prices for all Burma small group journeys include hotel accommodation, domestic flights as specified, road transport in air-conditioned vehicles, all sightseeing and entrance fees, Western tour leader (based on a minimum of 7 travellers) and local English-speaking guides throughout, airport transfers and some meals. International flights can be arranged at an additional cost through the operator under their ATOL protection. All departures are 100% guaranteed to operate.

Editor's notes:
Travel Indochina has been operating Small Group Journeys and tailor-made travel to the "real" Asia for 20 years. Today, the company features the widest range of itineraries of departures to Vietnam, Cambodia and Laos than any other tour operator in the UK, as well as a large variety of journeys to Thailand, Burma, China and Tibet, India, Japan, Bhutan, Mongolia and Sri Lanka. Unlike many other travel companies, Travel Indochina limits its group size to a maximum of 16 people. These smaller groups enable travellers to gain the best from both worlds - greater access to the local culture and plenty of opportunities for independent exploration.
