Spirit of Tasmania I and II will operate four additional daylight sailings to cater for increased passenger and vehicle demand on Bass Strait during October and November.
TT-Line Chief Executive Peter Simmons said the additional sailings had been scheduled in response to ongoing heavy demand for passenger and passenger vehicle transportation on Bass Strait.
With bookings well ahead for September and October compared to the same time last year, the company decided to introduce these additional voyages.
The additional sailings have been scheduled for:
Friday 11 October Saturday 12 October Friday 1 November Saturday 2 November
The additional sailings will provide capacity for an additional 8,000 passengers to travel and ensure that we continue to boost the tourism industries of both Tasmania and Victoria, Mr Simmons said.
The additional sailings will depart at 9.00am and arrive at 6.00pm. Fares for the daylight voyages will be $100 with cabin accommodation available at an extra cost. Standard vehicles will travel free.
Mr Simmons said the future for Spirit of Tasmania I and II looked extremely positive.
The new vessels commenced service just three weeks ago and already we have had to scheduled 20 additional daylight crossings to service the increased demand for Bass Strait transport, he said.
