The National Civil Rights Museum�s annual Dr. Martin Luther King Day Celebration will focus on the role of education, the King legacy and pay tribute to local leaders and organizations who influence youth.
The Museum�s weekend observance of the national King Holiday is the following; Saturday, January 17 with the Children and Youth Celebration, sponsored by ExxonMobil Boys and Men: The Journey to Empowerment and Affirmation A discussion on the effects of media, on young men will be explored. Local artists will also provide an on-hands craft session for participants. Special Programming admission is $5. Regular admission for touring the Museum, and regular Museum operating hours.
Sunday, January 18th, �More Than A Game�- A free symposium sponsored by the Hyde Family Foundation NBA, college and high school coaches and players who made a difference and focused on education. The Cannon Performing Arts Center- 2 p. m.
Monday, January 19th , sponsored by ExxonMobil The Museum expects 10,000 people to pay tribute the King legacy by touring the Museum and participating in special programming, including a variety show, highlighting local talent.
King Day Museum admission is $2. Program admission plus tour is $5.
The Museum will open at 8:00 a.m. and close at 5:30 p.m. This years King Day pays tribute to the 50th anniversary of the Brown vs. Board of Education decision, legally ending segregation of public schools. A gallery exhibit of work from 40 local and regional artists will be shown until February 28th.

Memphis Grizzlies, City of Memphis, National Civil Rights Museum Tribute Game
